August 23, 1946 - February 13, 2022

Carolyn Ray Malloy, 75, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2022 following medical complications with her husband and daughter by her side. She was born August 23, 1946 in Jacksonville, FL, where she lived most of her life. In 2017, she and her husband relocated to Westminster, CO to be near their daughter.

She is survived by her husband Ron, daughter Tiffany (Jamie), granddaughters Coco and MJ, sister Catherine (Fred), brother Jimmy, and numerous nieces and nephews.

During her life, Carolyn worked as an administrative assistant at Jacksonville General Hospital, where she met her husband thanks to the romantic machinations
of their boss, Jim Treece. Jim and his wife, Jakie Treece, remained dear friends throughout her life. Ron and Carolyn were married 47 years and shared many adventures together. They travelled throughout the United States and to Canada and the United Kingdom. She hiked in Nova Scotia and whiled away an hour in the company of a moose. In South Africa with her daughter, she went on safari and laughed about the warnings to keep the windows of their hut closed because
of the blue vervet monkeys.

Carolyn loved art and served as “Picture Lady” to many classes of kids at Julington Creek Elementary. When people were attempting to ban books in her daughter’s school district, she read all of the offending titles and wrote impassioned letters defending their value. That passion for art and creativity she passed on to her daughter and granddaughters.

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jacksonville, FL, where she loved attending the Lady’s Bible Study and had many friends, and Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church in Broomfield, CO.

Her celebration of life will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Divine Mercy House in Jacksonville, FL.
