Carmen Marie Jostes age 84 went to be with the Lord on April 19, 2024. Born October 4, 1939 in Denver Colorado to George and Kathryn Hubbard, she grew up in Flagler, Colorado. Carmen married Herbert Valens Jostes on April 26, 1958 and they were blessed with four children: Alan, Ronnie, Linda, and Steve.
Preceded in death by her husband Herbert of 62 years, sons Ronnie and Steve, as well as both of her parents.
Survived by son Alan and Denise Jostes of Franklin, North Carolina and daughter Linda and Kevin Hogg of Loveland, Colorado. Seven grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. Siblings Russell and Elaine Hubbard, Patricia and John Perry, Janis Reed, David and Jane Hubbard, Jeanne Hubbard, and Marilyn and Vern Brock.
Herb and Carmen lived and raised their family in Thornton, Colorado for many years. In addition to raising her family, she was a teacher’s aide and insurance agent. Herb and Carmen later moved to Loveland Colorado to enjoy their golden years, wintering in Florida for part of this time. Carmen loved camping with her husband, needle point, painting, bridge, and her dear friends. She also enjoyed dancing with her husband at the Elks lodge to the music of Joy Cayler’s Brass Beat of which children Alan, Linda and Steve were all performing. Her favorite pastime was watching the grandchildren grow up and going to their many events. She was a member of Saint John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Loveland, Colorado, helping with the Council of Catholic Women. Carmen loved life and had an infectious smile, making friends easily. She was loved by her family and many friends, and will be greatly missed.
Rosary will be held at Saint John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Loveland, Colorado on Wednesday April 24, 2024 at 10am, followed by Mass at 11am with a reception to follow in the church hall. Burial will be the same day at Mount Olivet cemetery in Denver, Colorado at 4pm.
