Friday Afternoon Concerts at the Museum
Enjoy an afternoon of live music in the Longmont Museum’s Stewart Auditorium this winter and spring featuring an array of musical acts from up and down the Front Range. Starting at 2:30 pm on Feb. 11, The Five Points Ambassadors are dedicated to playing and preserving the music of the legendary Five Points neighborhood in Denver. Their blues-oriented hard bop jazz also incorporates elements of swing. The group has performed for many dignitaries, including the Clintons during the 2008 National Convention. Training for Future City Lifeguards
Get your lifeguard certification during the upcoming SVVSD school break and work for Recreation Services’ amazing aquatics team! Our Feb. 18-21 class for ages 15 years and older is a special $45 training for future City employees only, which includes both AED and CPR certifications. Virtual Science @ Six: Exploring Colors
Join Longmont Librarians David and Kathleen online from 6-7 pm on Tuesday, Feb. 22, to explore colors! Participants will complete two experiments with color: a paper chromatography project and an experience with thin film interference. This interactive program is best for elementary school-aged kids. Registration is required through bit.ly/LibKids to receive log-in information.

Winter Bike to Work Day — February 11
Get those winter wheels ready to roll—Winter Bike to Work Day is approaching! From 7:30-9 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 11, the Development Services Center, located at 385 Kimbark St., will host a breakfast station, where those who ride their bikes to the morning station will receive breakfast burritos. All riders also will receive hot drinks and homemade cookies, as well as free bicycle lights and City of Longmont bicycle maps. Stop by on your commute, whether you’re headed to work or simply out for a morning ride before you hit your work-from-home destination. Event takes place snow or shine!

Applying for a toilet rebate? Make sure you qualify!

  • Was your home built before 1994? Business and multi-family customers can also participate; visit the website below for more details.
  • Is your new toilet’s gallon per flush (GPF) 1.1 GPF or less? Dual-flush toilet tip: Look for 0.8/1.28 toilets when shopping. 1.1/1.6 toilets DO NOT qualify.
  • Is your new toilet WaterSense certified and does it have a Maximum Performance (MaP) score of 600g or greater? Not all WaterSense toilets qualify.

Virtual Black History Month Storytime
Join Librarians Stephanie and Claire for a live, virtual Black History Month Storytime from 6-6:30 pm on Tuesday, Feb. 8! We will be sharing stories by Black creators and celebrating Black heroes, past and present. Registration required for this 30-minute, all ages storytime. Order Free COVID Tests Through USPS
Residential households in the U.S. can now order one set of four free at-home COVID tests from the U.S. Postal Service, with a limit of one order per residential address. Each order includes four individual rapid antigen COVID-19 tests. Order your tests at special.usps.com/testkits.

Teen-Powered Dungeons & Dragons
Calling all teenage D&D lovers! Sixth through 12th-graders who have experience playing Dungeons & Dragons are invited to play friendly campaigns from 6-7:30 pm on the first and third Tuesdays of every month from February through May at the Longmont Library. The most experienced players will Dungeon Master. This is a teen-powered program! Participants will have to work together cooperatively to create the playing experience.
