Coffee with Council this Saturday

Longmont City Council will host an in-person Coffee with Council from 9-10 a.m. on Saturday, July 23, at the Longmont Museum, 400 Quail Road.

At this event, you can talk informally with Mayor Joan Peck and Council Member Tim Waters on any topic of your choice.

Sign up for curbside composting

Summer is the right time to sign up for curbside composting! For $6.60/month, you can choose between a 96-gallon cart, or the new 48-gallon cart to be collected every other week.

Items that can be composted include yard waste (grass trimmings, leaves, branches, plants, etc.), food (fruits, vegetables, bread, dairy, meat, coffee grounds, tea bags, colored paper, etc.), as well as compostable cups and containers.

Middle School Night at Sunset Pool

Geared for all middle-schoolers and soon-to-be freshmen! From 6:30-8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 26, enjoy a fun evening at Sunset Pool, 1900 Longs Peak Ave.

Pre-register by calling 303-774-4700 so you don’t have to wait in line. Everyone who is preregistered ($5) can enter at 6:15 p.m., and be in the water at 6:30 p.m.

A drop-in payment option is available at the window, and guests must show proof of age or a current student ID.

Recreation passes or previous daily admission receipts are not valid.

National Night Out: Tuesday, Aug. 2

Longmont will celebrate National Night Out (NNO) from 6-9 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 2.

NNO is a nationwide annual celebration to strengthen neighborhoods and promote safety and neighborhood unity. Residents across Longmont will celebrate by hosting block parties, cookouts, lemonade and cookies and other activities.

Longmont Public Safety will have firefighters, police officers and volunteers out that night to meet and greet neighbors attending NNO events.

Open House at Callahan House and Garden

The Historic Callahan House and Garden, 312 Terry St., is hosting an Open House with tours from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 27.

Admission is free and the public is invited to attend.

Final outdoor summer concert at Museum

Join us from 6:30-8 p.m. on Thursday, July 28, for the final free outdoor concert of the season in the Museum’s courtyard.

The Hazel Miller Band is always backed by some of the finest musicians and vocalists in the world. Whether she’s singing the blues, jazz, pop, or Gospel, her voice charges the songs with a primal dose of genuine soul.
