Families and friends of those missing for more than one year in the state are invited to join the Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) during its annual Missing in Colorado event on Saturday, Aug. 5.

The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Lowry Conference Center, 1061 Akron Way, Bldg. 697, in Denver. It is free and open to the public.

Missing in Colorado gives families the opportunity to speak with other victims, victim advocates, and others as part of this important event. The event also provides resources to family members who face the unimaginable impacts of having someone they love go missing.

As part of the event, law enforcement, forensics professionals and nonprofits will be on hand to provide families with information and resources.

A private family support group will be held from 12 to 2 p.m. Space is limited so reservations are required to attend the support group.

Spanish speakers will be available at the event.

For families of the missing who are unable to attend the event, the CBI offers a comprehensive website listing a variety of missing person resources.
