The Longmont Museum is happy to report Discovery Days are back in full swing.

Summer camps

For all you families with children between the ages of five and 13, the Longmont Museum Summer Camp Registration is almost here. Members of the museum can register one week before the public and receive a 10 percent discount on camp registration.

Member registration opens Monday Feb. 13. Public registration opens Monday, Feb. 20. Scholarships are also available for one full week of camp per child.

If you have a child aged 14 years or older, they can still join us at the museum this summer for free as teen volunteers for summer camps. Click here for teen volunteer online application.

Visit the museum’s website for camp schedule, information and scholarship applications.

Discovery Days

The theme for Feb. 14 to 17 is musical instruments. Discovery Days is suited for kids two to six with an adult. The session costs $4 for each child ages 2+ per member and $4.50 for each child ages 2+ per non-member

Attend a session that fits your schedule. No registration needed.

Discovery Days music and movement

Children and their parents and caregivers can enjoy moving to music together. Ms. Emma or Ms. Cora from Integral Steps play music, play instruments like the flute, lead dancing and wiggling and lead sing-a-longs.

This class contains primarily direct instruction form Ms. Emma, so you will have the best experience if you arrive for the beginning of the class start time, so that you and your child can participate along with the instructor's direction.

  • Tuesdays
  • Classroom C
  • Jan. 17 to May 2 at 9 a.m., 10:30 a.m., 1 p.m.
  • Session are 45 minutes to an hour

Discovery Days Art with Ms. Leigh

This class is self-directed exploration in an art classroom space. Ms. Leigh provides guidance to children and families, assists with one-on-one skill acquisition, and plays with the children to help them learn and grow. This class allows for late arrival, but there is an attendance maximum for each session.

Friday, Feb.17, is a no-school day for SVVSD, so that means it's a Big Kids Day for Discovery Days. Bring your elementary aged kids along to craft and create side by side with our regular two to six year old participants. This is a nice opportunity for your older kids to get really creative with the craft materials offered in the room and make something elevated from the simpler examples.

  • Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays
  • Classroom AB
  • Jan. 18 to May 5 at 9 a.m., 10:30 a.m., 1 p.m.
  • Session will be one hour and 15 minutes

Discovery Days Scholarships

Scholarships are available for Discovery Days thanks to support from the Dodge Family Fund and the Stewart Family Foundation.

Each child who is awarded a scholarship will receive a free 10-pass punch card to be used in Discovery Days classes. Scholarship punch cards can be issued digitally and can be renewed.
