KGNU is proud to be the first station on the Colorado Front Range to bring Radio Bilingüe programming to our audience and the airwaves. With the addition of Línea Abierta to the 5:30 to 6:30 a.m. program slot Monday tjhrough Friday, KGNU adds an hour of Spanish and bilingual news and analysis of pressing national and international issues.

Línea Abierta is the first and only national live talk and call-in program in public broadcasting interconnecting Spanish-speaking audiences and newsmakers throughout the United States and Mexico. Each weekday, Línea Abierta offers an hour of news, analysis, features, interviews, round-tables, special series, and listener call-ins on current events, health, jobs, politics, the environment, education, the arts and culture, race relations, and immigrant rights, and more.

Diverse guests and audience members exchange views and crucial information, as experienced hosts lead the dialogue. Radio Bilingüe launched Línea Abierta in 1995 to meet the void of intelligent, thoughtful Spanish language and Latino-oriented public affairs programming in public and commercial media - and it is still unmatched today, carried by 75 stations across the nation and now KGNU.

KGNU’s Bilingual Reporter, Rossana Longo-Better produces local daily news headlines in Spanish, airing Monday through Friday at 2:55 p.m. on 88.5 FM and 1390 AM in Boulder/Denver and 98.7 FM in Fort Collins. In addition to Línea Abierta, and our Spanish Headlines Service, KGNU’s locally produced Pasa La Voz, Sundays 4 to 5 p.m., offers a weekly Spanish language program dedicated to connecting the Spanish speaking community with a myriad of resources, services, and conversations on a broad range of issues of local relevance.

Corriente! is KGNU’s weekly Latin music program airing Tuesdays 8 to10 p.m. and tune in every other Monday at 6 p.m. for La Lucha Sigue! a magazine-style program on news from Latin America and the Caribbean.

KGNU works 24/7 to connect communities on and off-air highlighting overlooked or under-represented voices in the community through our diverse music and news programs and radio training programs for youth and adults.

Learn more about the mission and people when your radio dial hits 88.5 FM, 1390 AM Denver/Boulder, 98.7 FM Fort Collins, or 93.7 FM in Nederland. These frequencies combined with KGNU’s digital media player enhance your listening experience on a computer or mobile device at kgnu.org, AfterFM.com, and News.kgnu.org.  KGNU is community-powered radio – more than 85 percent of KGNU’s programs are locally produced by 400 volunteers on-air and behind the scenes.
