BOULDER COUNTY DEMOCRATIC PARTY

Following Rep. Tracey Bernett’s announcement that she is resigning from office, The House District 12 (HD12) Vacancy Committee will convene on Saturday, Jan. 28 at 1 p.m. to fill the HD12 House seat. The Boulder County Democratic Party has begun work with the HD12 officers to run a transparent and fair process as prescribed by Colorado state law, the Rules of the Colorado Democratic Party and the Boulder County Democratic Party Bylaws.
The HD12 Vacancy Committee is comprised of Precinct Committee People, Precinct Support People, Area Coordinators, elected members of the Colorado General Assembly, and HD12 District Officers, all of whom lived within the boundaries of HD12 as of Jan. 8, 2023.
Candidates intending to run to fill this vacancy are encouraged to complete the form at https://bcdp.co/HD12-Candidate. All candidates who fill out that form will be provided with information about the process as it becomes available. Examples of such information include an information sheet about the job of being a Colorado State Representative, a list of requirements for being a candidate based on state law, and a list of rules for the proceedings based on state statute and Colorado Democratic Party Rules. Information about the process will also be posted as it becomes available for members of the public on the Boulder County Democratic Party's website.
