Crafternoon Challenge is a weekly craft that kids of all ages can do (although it's specifically geared toward pre-school and early elementary aged kids).

Do This Week's Challenge

See the instructions below to gather your supplies, or if you don’t have the supplies you need at home, pick up a kit at the Library's Curbside Delivery, 409 4th Ave. (while supplies last). Then, see the instructions below to make this week's craft!

Supplies:

  • Colorful plate plates
  • Paper or cupcake liners
  • Markers
  • Poms poms and/or glitter glue

Instructions:

Flowers come in all colors and shapes, so be creative with this craft. If you give the flower to someone special, you will certainly brighten their day!

  1. Cut any design around a paper plate that you would like. I drew a design on the back of the plate and cut it out.
  2. Fill the center with a circle: use paper, paint, cupcake liner, etc. then decorate the circle with anything you can find around your house. I used pom poms and glitter glue, but you can use pasta, glitter, sunflower seeds if you are making a yellow flower… anything will work.
  3. For the stem, paint or use a marker to color a large craft stick green.
  4. Add some green leaves and attach the stem to the flower.
