NEWS RELEASE
STATE OF COLORADO
*************************
The state has partnered to bring COVID-19 vaccination clinics to Junteenth celebrations in Denver, Colorado Springs, and Pueblo. Juneteenth commemorates the end of slavery in the United States and celebrates the day African Americans in Texas learned of their freedom two years after the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation. Celebrations are hosted in cities across the country.

“Coloradans will be honoring and celebrating Juneteenth this weekend and Colorado’s mobile vaccine clinics will have the free, safe, and effective COVID-19 vaccine available on site without appointments needed at celebrations in Pueblo, Colorado Springs and Denver so drop and get protected,” said Gov. Jared Polis.

“It is important to meet people where they are, and the mobile clinics allow people to access the vaccine right in their home communities,” says Brandy Emily, Health Equity Branch Chief, CDPHE. “As Coloradans are celebrating this weekend, we hope that they will stop by the mobile vaccination clinics to get the life-saving vaccine.”

To ensure these clinics are accessible to everyone who is eligible for vaccination, both Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson vaccines will be offered. Reservations are highly recommended for Coloradans between the ages of 12-17, or those preferring Pfizer. Walk up Pfizer doses will be available on a case by case basis. All approved COVID-19 vaccines are equally effective at preventing serious illness. Coloradans may sign up for an appointment at mobilevax.us/clinics.
