NEWS RELEASE
BOULDER COUNTY
************************
Efforts across the state, including by Boulder County Housing and Human Services, to promote low-cost OmniSalud (medical coverage for undocumented Colorado residents) resulted in the 11,000-person enrollment limit for 2024 OmniSalud coverage being reached within the first two days of open enrollment. This means that low-cost OmniSalud plans are no longer available for 2024, but full-price plans continue to be available to anyone interested through open enrollment. Boulder County Housing and Human Services’ communication, outreach, and enrollment efforts resulted in over 250 households in our community receiving health coverage enrollment assistance for OmniSalud.
Because capacity limits were reached rapidly, BCHHS has canceled its OmniSalud walk-in enrollment events planned for Lafayette on Friday, November 3rd, and Longmont during the week of November 6th.
BCHHS is now transitioning from its OmniSalud outreach and assistance efforts to focus on Connect for Health Colorado open enrollment, which continues through January 15, 2024. Individuals and families seeking better or lower-cost health coverage can make an appointment or learn more at www.BoulderCountyHealthCoverage.org. Boulder County has certified health coverage guides who provide free, unbiased education about insurance options, assist with the online application, and link people to other human services supports as needed. Assistance is available in both English and Spanish. To have health coverage beginning January 1, enrollment must be completed by December 15, 2023.
Residents can find full-price OmniSalud and Connect for Health Colorado open enrollment information at www.BoulderCountyHealthCoverage.org.
