Boulder County Elections Division to conduct tests on ballots and equipment for 2021 Coordinated Election

The tests ensure that all equipment is working correctly and that all votes will be properly tabulated

The Boulder County Elections Division will conduct a logic and accuracy test beginning on Tuesday, October 5 on ballots and equipment to be used for the 2021 Coordinated Election.

The test ensures voting system equipment properly tabulates votes. Each type of ballot and all ballot styles will be tested to verify they are properly printed and read by the scanning equipment. The test will also confirm that scanning equipment settings are properly calibrated for the ballots. Open to the public. Boulder County Public Health guidelines will be followed, including requiring all attendees to wear a face mask regardless of vaccination status. Space limitations and safety directives will be enforced. RSVP is requested.

What: Logic and Accuracy Testing – Testing of ballots and equipment for upcoming election

When: Tuesday, Oct. 5, 10 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Testing typically takes only one day for a Coordinated Election. However, if testing needs an additional day, it will run 10 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. each day (Wednesday and Thursday) or until complete; Anticipated Test Board Review of results, sign-off, resetting, and resealing of equipment: 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 7

Where: Ballot Processing Center, Boulder County Clerk & Recorder’s Office, 1750 33rd Street in Boulder.

Additionally, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Boulder County Public Health COVID-19 safety directives will be enforced. LAT participants and observers will be required to wear a mask and follow instructions provided by staff for the safe conduct of the LAT.

After testing concludes, documentation and results will be available online.
