The Weld County District Attorney’s Office announced on Instagram yesterday that it is hiring for a deputy district attorney, which is a role that would “handle significant criminal cases while collaborating with a talented, supportive team dedicated to serving and protecting [the Weld County] community.” The role was listed 10 days ago and the compensation range is between $91,457.60 and $115,856.00.
The deputy DA, according to Weld County, is an entry-level position which “performs professional legal work on a significant docket of misdemeanor and traffic cases including DUIs, domestic violence, assault, and careless driving cases.” The position is an opportunity for new attorneys to gain practical courtroom and trial experience, and entry-level attorneys are “provided the opportunity to move through the Office of the District Attorney as they advance in representing the People of Weld County.”
The job will require the deputy DA to review cases and prepare for trials, appear in court, provide legal council, and more.
Qualifications for the role include possessing a Juris Doctorate Degree, a license to practice law in the state of Colorado (or an ability to practice under the Student Practice Act or practice pending admission to the Colorado Bar).
