Travelers should be aware that several roads will close in downtown Longmont on Saturday due to the Boulder County Fair parade and celebration events.
Fourth Avenue, between Emery Street and Kimbark Street, will be closed Friday through Saturday at noon for the Twin Peaks Rotary Club annual Pancake Breakfast event.
The event will take place on Saturday morning from 6:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. The Twin Peaks Rotary will serve pancakes, sausage, eggs, coffee and milk to raise money for St. Vrain Valley graduating seniors.
The Boulder County Parade will kick off at 10 a.m. on Saturday. The parade route is from Roosevelt Park along Longs Peak Avenue to Main Street, Main Street to Third Avenue, west on Third Avenue to Coffman Street and returns to Roosevelt Park.
Street closures in the area include:
- the perimeter around Roosevelt Park
- Main Street between Third Avenue and Ninth Avenue
- Bross Street between Longs Peak Avenue to Ninth Avenue
- Longs Peak Avenue between Bross Street and Main Street
These closures will begin around 8 a.m. and stop around 12:30 p.m.
On Monday, Hover Street between CO 119 and Pike Road will close for seven days as BNSF Railroad begins repairs in the area. A detour will be set up along Sunset Street and business access will be available east along Ken Pratt Blvd.
Third Avenue between Terry Street and Main Street and Coffman Street between Second and Fourth avenues will be closed all day Thursday for asphalt paving. Northbound lands of Coffman Street will remain open and will serve as a detour for westbound traffic on Third Avenue. Larger vehicles are encouraged to use Main Street.
