LONGMONT, Colo. (Nov. 27, 2017) – The UCHealth Longs Peak Hospital Foundation has named the eight members of its inaugural board of directors.
This board of community leaders will serve the residents of Longmont, Carbon Valley and surrounding areas as it guides the foundation, which supports patients in need, innovation and employee education at UCHealth’s new full-service hospital.
The Longs Peak Hospital Foundation’s first directors are: Candy Campbell, owner of Bin 46 Restaurant and Wine Bar; Stacy Cornay, owner of Communication Concepts; Dr. J. David Cowden, pulmonologist at UCHealth Longs Peak Hospital; Dr. Rich Gordon, consultant and community representative; Geoff Howe, funeral director at Howe Mortuary and community representative; Dan Robinson, chief executive officer at Longs Peak Hospital; Elena Sandoval-Lucero, vice president of Front Range Community College; and Dr. Mark Schane, chief medical officer at Longs Peak Hospital.
"We are thrilled to have such a dedicated and visionary group of leaders as we launch Longs Peak Hospital Foundation," said Erica Siemers, regional executive director for UCHealth’s northern Colorado foundations. "With their insight, talent and passion for improving lives, our community will be well served."
Philanthropic support through the foundation helps to fill in gaps not covered by insurance, accelerates new advances and offers a meaningful way for grateful patients and families to express gratitude. One-hundred percent of contributions to the foundation stay local and benefit Longs Peak Hospital patients and programs.
The 210,000-square-foot hospital, located at 1750 E. Ken Pratt Blvd. in Longmont, officially opened its doors Aug. 31. It features an enhanced birth center, an intensive care unit, four operating rooms, a Level III trauma center and emergency department, cardiac services, a special care nursery, an adjoining outpatient surgery center, a cafe, a gift shop, 24/7 retail pharmacy, radiology and laboratory services, a meditation room and a courtyard.
