St. Vrain Habitat for Humanity has been awarded $30,000 in grants from the Wells Fargo Foundation to build two homes for families in Longmont. The grant will also come with hands-on support of Wells Fargo volunteers while building in Habitat’s Mountain Brook development.
On July 26 and August 9, Wells Fargo volunteers joined St. Vrain Habitat on the Mountain Brook construction site in Longmont. Alongside other community volunteers, Habitat staff and future homeowners, Wells Fargo employees painted, installed flooring and hung cabinets.
“It’s wonderful to have our corporate partners on-site! They get a sense of how much work goes into building a home, and they get to see their donation in action. Without partners like Wells Fargo, our progress would be slower and our impact would be less. We’re grateful for their continued support,” said Rebecca Shannon, Community Engagement Manager.
The two Longmont families are currently earning their sweat equity by building alongside community volunteers, while also completing required financial education and home ownership coursework.
This funding is part of a $7.5 million donation to Habitat for Humanity International through the 2023 Wells Fargo Builds program to build and repair more than 350 affordable homes nationwide.
