Short pursuit of stolen vehicle ends at PIke and South Main Street

A 19-year-old Denver woman is in Boulder County Jail after she allegedly stole a Lexus SUV  in Erie Friday afternoon and pursued by Boulder County Sheriff’s deputies before she crashed into a light pole in Longmont.

Cassidy Dudek, the driver of the SUV, was transported to the hospital with minor injuries from the crash, said Erie Police Sgt. A. Haddox.  No deputies were injured. 

Sheriff’s deputies about 2:10 p.m. located the stolen SUV in the area of Tenacity and Christi Court, located in Prospect. The Lexus was stolen a short while earlier from a garage in Erie, according to a Boulder County news release.

Deputies attempted contact with the Lexus using a high risk stop. The female driver and only occupant in the vehicle initially complied, but then backed into one of the Sheriff’s Office patrol cars, before fleeing the area, according to the news release. A short pursuit ensued, culminating in the Lexus crashing into a light pole at Pike and South Main Street in Longmont.

Colorado State Patrol investigated the crash at Pike Road and South Main. the news release states. The original auto theft, subsequent investigation and arrest of the driver was handled by the Erie Police Department.
