Longmont area pet owners show off their pet's tricks at the Tasty Weasel Taproom

Longmont witnessed a blast of furry fun as TBS’ Stupid Pet Tricks Tour rolled into town on Wednesday at the Tasty Weasel Taproom located inside Oskar Blues Brewery, transforming the venue into a locale for pet lovers and their talented companions.

The brewery buzzed with excitement as pet owners and their beloved animals flocked to participate in the interactive experience. The pink carpet beckoned pets to strut their stuff and showcase their audition, vying for a chance to be featured on TBS’ upcoming new series, “Stupid Pet Tricks,” hosted by comedian Sarah Silverman.

“The tour is an extension of our social UGC campaign for the series, #MyStupidPetTrick, which gives viewers at home the chance to have their pets featured on-air during ‘Stupid Pet Tricks’ on TBS,” said Whitney Portman, director of brand marketing at TBS. “We wanted to bring the ‘Stupid Pet Tricks’ charm directly to pet owners and give them a chance to showcase and celebrate their own amazing pets.”

Amidst the buzz of excitement, pet lovers mingled and chatted animatedly, their voices carrying snippets of conversation and laughter into the evening air. Each pet became a catalyst for new connections, as owners proudly introduced their four-legged friends to fellow enthusiasts, their pets exchanging curious sniffs and playful barks. Attendees mingled, snapped photos in pet-friendly moments and enjoyed special giveaways.

But it wasn’t just about fun and games; the Stupid Pet Tricks Tour also had a heartwarming side. Partnering with Best Friends Animal Society, the event showcased the Longmont Humane Society and offered pet adoptions. It was a wonderful opportunity for attendees to consider opening their hearts and homes to a furry friend in need.

“We found a great partner in Monster Brewing Company that has a neighborhood presence with taprooms in several pet-loving communities, like Oskar Blues in Longmont, that were perfect for the tour,” Portman said.

As the spotlight illuminated the stage, pets of all shapes and sizes eagerly took their moment in the limelight. Some performed their tricks with impeccable precision, eliciting cheers and applause from the crowd, while others embraced the spontaneity of the moment, choosing instead to revel in the adoration of their adoring fans, or just merely exiting stage left for the doggie bowl.

In the age of seamless internet communication and video uploading, the presence of TBS representatives added an intriguing dimension to the event. It wasn’t merely about showcasing pet talents; it was about fostering a sense of community among pet owners, transcending the virtual realm and bringing people together in the shared joy of pet companionship.

Beyond the confines of the dog park, this gathering served as a reminder of the unbreakable bond between humans and their animal companions — a bond that transcends boundaries and enriches lives in ways both profound and heartwarming.

A reimagining of the beloved David Letterman Late Show segment, “Stupid Pet Tricks” brings together a celebrity lineup of guests, including Jon Hamm, Will Ferrell and Judd Apatow, who join in the fun with their own furry friends. With Silverman’s comedic flair and a parade of pets performing ridiculous and extraordinary tricks, new episodes recently debuted on Feb. 12.

As the Stupid Pet Tricks Tour continues its journey across the country after stopping by Tampa, Dallas, Austin and Longmont, the TBS Stupid Pet Tricks Tour is packing up and gearing up to cast its charming spell over Brevard, North Carolina. On Feb. 17, pet lovers and their furry companions will converge upon another Oskar Blues Brewery location for an afternoon of laughter, camaraderie, and, of course, incredible pet performances.
