New mental health clinic opens in Longmont

"We offer a non-judgmental space to explore areas of difficulty in your life," Alayna Baillod said

One in seven Coloradans report they have needed mental health treatment and were not able to get it, according to a 2019 Colorado Health Access Survey. For those in and around Longmont the struggle to find a mental health clinic just got a bit easier.

Alayna Baillod recently moved to Longmont after purchasing a home in the area. Excited to be a part of the new community she wanted to expand her counseling practice here as well.

Baillod runs a four-person practice in Lakewood called Self Care Impact Counseling. There they offer therapy and mental health solutions for teens, families and couples.

"We offer a non-judgmental space to explore areas of difficulty in your life," Baillod, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) said. "We are delighted to be able to now extend our services to the Longmont community."

Baillod was a troubled teen, her father and Marketing Assistant Brian Baillod said. At one point he did not know how to reach her and felt it was time to try something new. He said he set her up to attend a primitive camping experience in Utah that took place over three months. The experience forced Alayna Baillod to learn how to survive and to know that if she could conquer that she could conquer anything, Brian Baillod said.

After her own experience, Alayna returned to the camp as an employee, helping other teens find their way, Brian Baillod said.

As an adult, Alayna Baillod sought out a profession that allowed her to work with teens and children who experienced trauma.

“She understands the courage and vulnerability required to seek help and is empathetic, strength-based and solution-focused in her approach. She is deeply passionate about helping people thrive and sees her role as a therapist to help people better understand themselves,” a news release states.

Self Care Impact Counselling clinic has just opened in Longmont and is accepting new patients. Brian Baillod said the clinic offers sessions in Spanish and is accepting of all identities.

The clinic has an empathetic strength-based and solution-focused approach which empowers individuals and couples to better prepare and tackle complex personal and relational challenges, the news release states.

The new clinic is located at 709 Kimbark St. New clients can contact Alayna Baillod at 720-551-4553 to inquire about an appointment.
