Mayor Chiyokazu Yanagidaira of Chino, Japan will be visiting Longmont this week. He is slated to arrive with a small delegation Tuesday, May 2nd and stay until May 6th.
The mayor and delegates will be attending this weeks city council meeting "to formally introduce themselves, exchange gifts with Mayor Coombs, and to say a few words to the community". In addition, they plan to meet with the LEDP (Longmont Economic Development Partnership), the Longmont Chamber of Commerce, have lunch at Cheese Importers and Rosalee's Pizza, and tour local businesses, specifically Seagate and Lefthand Brewing.
The Chino delegates include: Mr. Minoru Nomura, President of Nomura Unison Co. Ltd., Mrs. Yoriko Kasai, President of NPO Chino International Club, Mrs. Michiko Yazaki, Secretary of NPO Chino International Club, Mr. Kiyoshi Kase, Board Member, NPO Chino International Club, and Mr. Yoshiaki Ueda, Chief of Industrial Promotion, Commerce and Industry, Economic and Industrial Department of Chino City.
Chino, a city located in the center of Japan, is one Longmont's sister cities.
