Longmont Public Media will open its doors to the public on January 2, 2020. The old Carnegie Library, located at 457 4th Ave., will be open between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.

The public is welcome to stop by and tour the facility and memberships to the media makerspace will be available. We just moved in and have quite a bit of cleaning and getting things in order. We also need to clear out much of what was left behind by the old tenant, so please excuse the dust if you drop by.

Suggestions for what members of the public wants the space to be will be welcomed.

"We are excited that we are finally into the new space and can start inviting people in to make media. It will be exciting to see the innovative things our community comes up with, tv shows, podcasts, movies, photography, documentaries, and so much more. The sky is the limit and we can't wait to see what Longmont creates," states Scott Converse, Longmont Public Media GM.

Longmont Public Media meetings will now be held every Thursday evening at 7 p.m. at the Carnegie Building. And yes, we'll be having that meeting this week. If you'd like to learn more or you have ideas on what you'd like to see happen at the Longmont Public Media space, please, come on by at 7 pm on Thursday. We're looking forward to seeing you.
