The Longmont Museum will host an event called “Voices of Change: Community Conversations on Immigration” on March 6 at 7p.m. During the event, the museum will screen selections from a critically-acclaimed PBS TV series called “Humanize: Newcomers.” The series, which originally aired in June, features stories and perspectives from people who recently immigrated to Colorado, public officials, and community helpers in an attempt to “peel back the stereotypes, look beneath dividing lines, and discover what truly humanizes us all.”

The screening is presented in partnership with the Longmont Multicultural Action Committee. It will be followed by a panel of community leaders and immigrants who live in Boulder County who will discuss the program and their own perspectives and lead a conversation with attendees. The event is free but requires reservations to be made online or by calling 303-651-8374.

The event is part of the Longmont Museum’s “Thursday Nights at the Museum” series. Every Thursday until May 1, the museum will host concerts, show films, and present free talks in the Stewart Auditorium. The museum galleries are open late on Thursday nights, with four extra hours from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Until May 4, the museum’s exhibition is “A Graphic Journey: Prints by Pablo Picasso.”
