Both sides of Main Street and Coffman Street were lined with people on Saturday in support of veterans. Many waved American flags in anticipation of the Longmont Annual Veterans Day Parade.
The parade was led by the Color Guard which presented the colors of all the branches of the U.S. Military.
Seven high school bands marched in the parade playing and singing patriotic songs, enticing the crowd to sing along. Longmont High School had volunteers hand out thank you letters to veterans they identified in the crowd.
Car groups such as the Corvette Club and the Thunderbird Club also cruised down the streets, waving flags and tossing out candy.
Special Honoree Gordon Hodgson rode in the second car of the parade. Hodgson is 102 years old and is a veteran of World War II.
