Longmont will use $215,000 in ongoing funding for housing vouchers to help homeless residents find a stable place to live.

The city will enter into an agreement with the Longmont Housing Authority to administer the vouchers which are paid for through a portion of an annual allocation from Longmont Housing and Human Services, according to a city staff report.

The city council on Tuesday unanimously approved the agreement.

The vouchers will be used to lease up to seven units at Briarwood Apartments and for leases with private property owners, the staff report states. In all, 12 units will be leased through the program.

Funding will cover rental assistance, administrative fees and unit turnover expenses, the staff report states.
