Flagstaff Academy has been awarded more than $15,000 in grants. The Colorado Department of Education, in collaboration with DonorsChoose, provided up to $1,000 in funding per teacher to help purchase classroom supplies.
"We are immensely proud of our teachers and their dedication to innovative teaching practices," said Katie Gustafson, Flagstaff Academy Executive Principal in a press release. "This grant funding will further empower them to create enriching learning experiences that will benefit our students for years to come."
These grants will allow Flagstaff Academy educators to implement creative and engaging educational initiatives. This includes purchasing items such as a microscope and solar panels for the greenhouse classroom; robotics kits and keyboards for the Flagstaff Academy Innovation Lab. Teachers were also able to upgrade classroom furniture, art supplies and learning games.
