Clarie Levy announces candidacy for a second term as Boulder County Commissioner

Claire Levy announced that she will seek a second term in the Nov. 2024 election for Boulder County Commissioner.

Levy was elected in 2020 to serve District 1 in Boulder County. During her first term she spent much of her time working on topics associated with the COVID 19 pandemic and recovery from the Marshall fire.

“While that recovery is still in the forefront of my efforts, I am eager to continue working on mental and behavior health, affordable housing, economic security for low-income residents and climate change,” Levy said.

If elected, Levy’s focus would include increasing affordable rental and home ownership, mental health and behavioral health disorders, creating a permanent universal cash assistance program for low-income parents and continuing relief efforts conducted by Marshall fire rebuilders.

While serving as commissioner, Levy has been proud of providing responsible leadership on the county’s budgets, leading a campaign to extend the sale tax for multimodal transportation improvements, terminating the Dowe Flats quarry and enacting ground-breaking gun violence prevention ordinances.

“I am proud of what I have accomplished during my first two and a half years in office, and there is so much more I want to do on behalf of residents of Boulder County,” Levy said.
