Citywide News
This Week in Longmont - June 2, 2017
Longmont residents are receiving door hangers on their homes with an offer to test their tap water for free. This company is not associated with the City and data collected is not being used for any purpose related to the City’s operation of its water utility. Residents are not likely to need additional water testing services. The City independently collects approximately 90 water samples per month throughout Longmont to test water quality in the distribution system and ensure continued delivery of high-quality drinking water.
The Longmont Downtown Development Authority’s Clean & Green event was postponed due to weather and is now rescheduled for 8 to 11 am on Saturday, June 3. Volunteers are needed to help with landscaping and clean-up projects around the Downtown District. Come with a friend or form a team. Hot breakfast and t-shirts provided and you’ll have a chance to take home a new Ace Hardware wheelbarrow. For more information or to sign up online, visit DowntownLongmont.com/clean&green. This project is sponsored by the City of Longmont, BBP, Wyatt’s Wet Goods, and Ace Hardware.

Does Your Location Need Bike Parking?
As bicycling grows throughout our region, so does the need for reliable end-of-trip facilities. Bicycle Colorado and Boulder County Public Health (in partnership with the City of Longmont) are separately providing bike parking services for our community. Currently, businesses and multifamily housing properties are the only entities eligible to receive free bike racks, but members of the public are welcome to suggest locations for bike racks. For more information visit BicycleColorado.org/initiatives/bike-parking, email [email protected], or use the hashtag #BoCoBikeRacks on social media with details about where you would like to see a bike rack.
