NEWS RELEASE
CITY OF LONGMONT

The City of Longmont’s Children, Youth and Families division has launched a new website, in English and Spanish, dedicated to early childhood education online.

The site provides information and resources both for families seeking educational opportunities as well as for people exploring a career in early childhood education. A highlight is an interactive map which families and caregivers can use to locate early childhood providers in Longmont that meet specific criteria.

The site also details the benefits of early childhood education, both to families and the community at large, explains the different types of childcare, and lists ways that families can find help in paying for early childhood education.

Information about careers and licensing in early childhood education resources are provided for both families and caregivers as well as detailed information about available careers and required licensing.

“We believe these resources are much needed and will be very welcome,” said Longmont’s director of human services, Christina Pacheco. “Making it easy to find local providers that meet your specific needs can make a big difference for families.

"In addition, the site provides a wide range of resources for people seeking employment and licensing in the field. It’s exciting to launch this new resource and we look forward to improving it with the feedback that guests provide on it.”
