Berthoud Man Arrested for Firing Gun in Loveland Taco Bell Parking Lot

A 23-year-old Berthoud man was arrested on Monday after allegedly firing a gun during a dispute at a Loveland Taco Bell drive-through. No injuries were reported, and he faces felony and misdemeanor charges.

The Loveland Police Department arrested a 23-year-old man for discharging a firearm in the Taco Bell parking lot at 1330 N. Lincoln Avenue. The incident occurred in the early morning hours of Monday, March 24 around 1 a.m. Cesar Abdel Alvidrez was taken into custody at his home in Berthoud Monday afternoon. 

 

According to the LPD press release, the dispute began in the drive-through and escalated before Abdel Alvidrez pointed his firearm at the victim. He fired a shot before leaving the scene in his vehicle. Nobody was reportedly injured during the incident. Alvidrez was booked into the Larimer County Jail at 5:39 p.m. Monday and bonded out at 5:28 p.m. the next day. 

 

Alvidrez is charged with Menacing (CRS 18-3-206), a Class 5 Felony and Reckless Endangerment (CRS 18-3-208), a Class 2 Misdemeanor. Anyone with information regarding the incident is encouraged to call the LPD Tip Line at 970-962-2032 or Larimer County Crime Stoppers at 970-221-6868.

 

No other details from the incident have been disclosed. 


A report released in 2021 tallied 911 calls regarding threatening incidents made from “McDonald’s, Burger King, Carl’s Jr., and Jack-in-the-Box locations in California’s nine most populous cities.” There were 77,000 violent or threatening incidents between 2017 and 2020. 911 calls were filtered to remove calls associated with medical emergencies and traffic accidents. Some specific locations had a 911 call rate of two or more calls per week.
