Green Ride, an airport shuttle service, began servicing the Longmont area in May 2017. Two weeks ago, they officially opened their newly renovated office located at 206 South Main St., Longmont.
The service includes rides to and from Denver International Airport (DIA). Rates are $30 for hub passengers and $40 for residence and hotel passengers. Additional passengers in the same party ride for only $12. Children 11 and under ride for free.
Green Ride provides service to the entire Longmont residential city limits.
It is Green Rides goal to provide, "a safe, efficient, shared ride, airport service at a fair price, with a genuinely honest and friendly staff while operating in a sustainable manner. We want every passenger to know what to expect when they experience our service: to trust our timing, our efficiency and our methods and in that trust ride stress-free knowing that we will deliver them to their destination in a safe and punctual manner," according to their website.
When Longmont General Manager Joe Nicholson was asked, "Why Longmont?", he responded, "Boulder County and Boulder are growing and growing fast. Boulder is spilling over into Longmont. We didn't want to be left behind, we want to be in front of the race when Longmont takes off completely."
Green Ride is a locally owned business which began in Boulder. In total, they employ 50-60 people, 15 of whom work in Longmont. Nicholson predicts that the Longmont numbers could expand quickly in the next few years.
