Winter sports enthusiasts have plenty to look forward to this season as Colorado's ski resorts introduce exciting upgrades for the 2024-25 winter season.

From expanded terrain and faster lifts to luxurious après-ski spots and unique experiences, these improvements aim to elevate every skier’s adventure.

Here's a breakdown of what’s new across the state.

Bigger and Better Ski Terrain

Colorado resorts are adding more space for skiers to explore.

Monarch Mountain is nearly doubling its footprint with the addition of 377 acres in the No Name Basin area.

Although a lift won’t arrive until next year, Monarch Cat Skiing provides early access to this fresh backcountry terrain, making it a must-visit for powder lovers.

Purgatory Resort and Aspen Mountain offer even more difficult courses for experienced skiers.

Purgatory has improved popular paths including Mark's Park and McCormack's Maze while Aspen's gladed sections have been polished.

Telluride's Heritage Trail provides a scenic and instructive experience for novices with interactive elements stressing the history and culture of the region.

Faster and Smarter Lift Systems

Getting to the slopes is faster than ever with cutting-edge lift upgrades.

Copper Mountain has transformed its Timberline Express into a high-speed, six-person lift, significantly reducing wait times for intermediate terrain access.

Similarly, Snowmass replaced its Coney Glade chairlift with the Coney Express quad, which features a midway station for easier entry into the resort’s renowned terrain park.

For new skiers, Granby Ranch has installed a 400-foot covered conveyor lift, making it easier for learners to navigate the slopes.

Chapman Hill in Durango has also extended its tow ropes and added a platter lift, offering better access to its beginner-friendly areas.

Exciting Après-Ski Hotspots

This season’s dining and entertainment options are sure to impress.

Vail’s new Avanti Food & Beverage venue and Powerline Pub at Gondola One bring fresh energy to the resort’s après-ski scene.

At Keystone, the luxury Kindred Resort combines upscale lodging with multiple dining options, a full-service spa, and a new ski school location for family-friendly convenience.

Winter Park introduces Sundog Taproom at its base area, where visitors can enjoy casual pub fare and pour their own drinks from 30 self-serve taps.

For a more adventurous dining experience, head to Hoedown Hill’s new Frosted Spigot bar or the updated eateries at Purgatory Resort.

New Adventures and Experiences

This winter, resorts are delivering more than just great skiing.

Snowmass debuts sunset ski events at its Forage & Feast restaurant, where guests can enjoy after-hours laps, live music, and gourmet Colorado cuisine.

Winter Park adds cultural depth with Arapaho-named trail signs, created in partnership with NativesOutdoors to honor the region’s Indigenous heritage.

For a memorable evening, visit The Cabin at Snowmass. This renovated eatery now features an expanded patio, live entertainment, and exclusive snowcat dinner experiences.

These unique offerings ensure there’s something for everyone to enjoy beyond the slopes.

With these exciting upgrades, Colorado ski resorts are ready to deliver unforgettable winter adventures.

Whether you're a seasoned skier or a first-timer, this season promises something new at every turn.
