On December 10th, big box retailer At Home opened its newest location at 955 South Hover Street, the location of the JC Penney which closed in June of 2017. This is At Home's 4th location in Colorado and their 178th nationwide. The Plano, Texas based retailer specializes in home decor including furniture, rugs, art and housewares.
At Home announced the purchase of the 98,000 square foot location in June of this year and originally expected to open the store in September. According to a press release, At Home says that they are happy to have the store open "just in time for seasonal Christmas shopping."
"We are excited to open our second store in the Denver area," said At Home Chairman and CEO Lee Bird referring to the Longmont location. At Home's other Colorado locations include Broomfield, Greeley, and Colorado Springs.
At Home uses a warehouse model which replaces less than 1% of their inventory each week, allowing for "fresh inspiration."
Longmont Store Director Jeff Nellor described himself and his staff as "dedicated to inspiring you to refresh, play and experiment" by purchasing some of At Home's inventory of 50,000 items in a manner which "reflects your unique personality and style."
A New Store Open House will be held on Saturday, December 22nd at 9 a.m. The open house will include gift card giveaways for the first 50 people who visit and sign up for At Home's customer tracking program.
