Hooplagers, formally known as Lagers for Lumber, will take place on Saturday, July 21 at Wibby Brewing. VIP admission begins at 3:15 p.m. and general admission begins at 4 p.m. The event ends at 8 p.m.
"Hooplagers will feature more than 45 breweries from across the country, including names beer enthusiasts will recognize as behemoths in the industry," states a press release by Wibby Brewing.
Robin Wibby, special events strategist, said the "lager hoopla is growing," noting that the event has expanded from 30 to 45 breweries participating this year.
According to the press release, "Festival goers will receive a commemorative mug for their unlimited pours. Hooplagers also features a massive pool party, a fundraising sand castle-building contest, three live bands, a silent disco, an indoor arcade, and food trucks. VIP tickets include speciality pours and free food as well as entry to a shaded lounge and indoor bathrooms."
Katie de la Rosa, assistant taproom manager, mentioned that, "We will have a giant, inflatable pool in the parking lot that anyone (after signing a waiver) is welcome to splash and lounge in" and that "more than 12 tons of sand will be trucked in for the beach party."
The bands playing for the evening include, Timber bluegrass band, Pan Association Steel Drum band, and Last Minute Blues Band.
This event is also a fund raiser to benefit local Longmont charities. Those charities include, Safe Shelter of St. Vrain, Out Boulder County, Bicycle Longmont, Firehouse Art Center, Habitat for Humanity of St. Vrain and more. All proceeds from Hooplagers benefit these charities.
"In 2017, with more than 1,300 people in attendance, Hooplagers raised more than $7,500 for United Way and Safe Shelter of the St. Vrain Valley," states the press release.
