A road rage incident late Friday night in Fort Collins led to a police chase and a crash.

The suspect, driving a dark Ford F-150 with Wyoming plates, was arrested after ramming into another vehicle and fleeing from law enforcement.

Road Rage Incident Sparks Police Chase

The incident began around 11:30 p.m. when a caller contacted Fort Collins Police Services (FCPS), reporting that they were being followed by a dark-colored Ford F-150 with Wyoming license plates.

The caller said the truck had rammed their vehicle from behind and continued to follow them.

The dispatcher advised the caller to head toward the FCPS building for safety.

As the caller drove toward the police station, the suspect continued to chase them.

FCPS officers quickly located the two vehicles on Zeigler Road. When police attempted a traffic stop, the driver of the truck ignored the order and fled the scene, driving away from the officers.

Police Chase and High-Speed Pursuit

After the truck fled, FCPS officers continued to track the vehicle as it sped away.

The truck was soon spotted traveling northbound on Timberline Road.

However, the suspect did not stop, and the situation escalated as he continued to evade police.

The Larimer County Sheriff's Office (LCSO) joined the pursuit, spotting the suspect vehicle on Interstate 25.

The driver reached speeds of over 100 mph and even rammed into a deputy’s patrol car.

Despite the close calls and danger, the suspect continued to drive at high speeds through the area.

Crash and Arrest

The chase came to an end when the suspect’s truck left the road and crashed into an agricultural field near County Road 102 and County Road 19.

The driver, identified as 52-year-old Jimmy Whitver, was taken to a hospital for evaluation but was released shortly afterward.

Whitver was then arrested by FCPS officers and booked into the Larimer County Jail on multiple charges, including attempted assault, vehicular eluding, and driving under the influence.

He is currently facing serious legal consequences for his actions during the road rage incident and subsequent police chase.
