A former swim coach for the club team Boulder Swimming was arrested last week for three charges of sexual assault on a child in a position of trust. He is awaiting extradition back to Boulder.

Jon Michael Beber was a swim coach for Boulder Swimming from 1997 through 2002. While there, he allegedly had inappropriate sexual contact with multiple, underage swimmers from the team, according to a press release from the Boulder County District Attorney's Office.

The DA's office also reports that Beber left the role in 2002 when the allegations surfaced.

Beber also is known to have coached teams in Albany, New York and Atlanta, Georgia.

The DA's office is seeking information related to the investigation or Boulder Swimming.

“We strongly encourage individuals with information to contact the District Attorney’s Office. Our Sex Crimes Unit is handling this case and is available to speak with anyone with information,” stated District Attorney Michael Dougherty.
