Cherry Creek School Bus Struck in Denver Hit-and-Run

A Cherry Creek School District bus was involved in a hit-and-run crash on Interstate 70 near Pecos Street in Denver on Thursday afternoon.

The incident occurred around 2:46 p.m., with no serious injuries reported among the passengers.

Scene of the Crash

The crash happened on I-70 just west of the Interstate 25 interchange. The bus was traveling east when it was struck by a vehicle that sped off.

Despite the impact, the bus only sustained minor damage and was safely pulled over to the shoulder.

Emergency crews arrived on the scene within half an hour to assist.

Impact on Passengers

Three individuals were on the bus at the time: the driver, a student, and a bus assistant.

The student, who was not enrolled in the Cherry Creek district, was being transported to an out-of-district school.

The student was taken to the hospital for observation, but there were no reported injuries. All three were evaluated by medical personnel following the incident.

Ongoing Investigation

Denver police and fire crews responded promptly to the scene to provide aid and start investigating the hit-and-run.

Authorities are currently working to gather more information about the vehicle that left the scene.
