Discovery Days is an imaginative hands-on, drop-in arts and crafts program for children ages 2 to 6 and an adult at the Longmont Museum. We need help keeping the cost for Discovery Days low so that the program is accessible to any child from any background.
The Longmont Museum is grateful for your generosity toward our goal of raising $10,000 for our Discovery Days early childhood education program.
Discovery Days is an imaginative hands-on arts and crafts program for children ages 2 to 6 and an adult. It’s held three days a week with three sessions per day throughout the school year and is available on a drop-in basis.
Discovery Days is important because it inspires creativity and exploration in pre-K kids. It also helps to develop fine-motor skills and hand-eye coordination. These skills go a long way as children enter traditional school programs.
It’s important to us to keep the cost for Discovery Days low so that the program is accessible to any child from any background. The cost to drop in is only $4, or $4.50 for nonmembers. That cost not only includes the child’s participation in the program, but also three to four take home crafts! The money that we generate through this small fee is not enough to cover our staff costs to run the program, in addition to the rising hard costs of materials. So, we rely on support from the community to ensure our kids have to learn and create close to home.
Your support will help to ensure prices for Discovery Days stay low, so any kid can join in the fun and learning. It will also help us to continue outreach so families know about this inexpensive local opportunity, and drive participation. We hope to have your support for the Longmont Museum’s Discovery Days early childhood learning program this year! Thank you!
About the Live & Give Program:
Help shape Longmont’s future in a single day.
On September 26th, Live & Give Longmont brings our community together for 24 hours of generosity. With everyone in the community giving whatever they can, we hope to raise start up funds for a few projects in our community. It’s about working together to accentuate the place we love—so it will continue to thrive today and for generations to come.
