The Colorado Aviation Business Association and MSU Denver’s Aerobatics Flight Teams held their annual VFW Charity Airlift at Centennial Airport.
The event aims to provide toys and food to veterans and their families across 20 different VFW posts throughout Colorado.
Approximately 11,000 to 12,000 pounds of food were carefully loaded onto planes and flown to 12 different airports across the state.
This coordination helps ensure that aid reaches veterans in need across a broad and diverse area.
Reach and Impact
The VFW Charity Airlift reaches communities in cities such as Grand Junction, Durango, Montrose, Delta, Cortez, Alamosa, Pueblo, Las Animas, Sterling, Greeley, Loveland, Fort Collins, and Longmont.
Since its start in 2011, the program has assisted more than 9,000 veterans and their families.
To date, over 80,000 pounds of food have been distributed, making a significant impact on those in need.
This support not only addresses immediate food security but also helps foster a sense of community and gratitude during the holiday season.
