The body of a 33-year-old Thornton woman was found in the Clark Fork River in Missoula, Montana on March 9. The woman, Danit Ehrlich, and her dog had been reported missing on February 22 after having last been seen on February 21 at a dog park in Missoula.

Ehrlich, who was a travelling nurse, had been travelling from Thornton to Tacoma, Washington when she went missing. She was going to be starting a nursing assignment in Tacoma after she arrived.

FOX31 reported that Missoula police officers responded to a 911 caller who said they saw a human body in the river. Police officers and the Missoula Fire Department assisted in the recovery of Ehrlich’s body, which was discovered nearly a mile from where she went missing.

The Missoula Police Department said that investigators determined that Ehrlich likely drowned in the Clark Fork River, and it is presumed that her dog, Bamba, also drowned. Bamba’s body has not yet been discovered.
