The body of missing skier Connor Gill was recovered at Vail Ski Resort on February 28. Two weeks prior, 26-year-old Gill had been skiing at the resort and was reported missing by a friend at around 3:15 p.m. Heavy snowfall after Gill’s disappearance made search and rescue efforts difficult,
According to the Vail Daily News, Gill’s last pass scan placed him in the Chair 2 area of Vail Mountain during snowy conditions. Vail Ski Patrol and Vail Mountain Rescue led search efforts for Gill until they found his body on February 28.
The Eagle County Coroner Kara Bettis confirmed that the body was Gill on March 3.
No additional information about the cause of Gill’s death or where his body was found has been released at this time. Investigations are still underway.
