A driver has been summoned in connection with a deadly pedestrian crash that occurred in Louisville earlier this year.

The fatal crash took place on July 8, 2024, around 5:46 p.m. at the intersection of Via Appia Way and Sagebrush Way in Louisville.

Judy Florian, 59, was crossing Via Appia Way in the crosswalk when she was struck by a 2014 Lexus RX traveling eastbound.

Witnesses reported that the collision sent Florian 12 to 13 feet into the air before she fell to the ground.

The Louisville Police Department led the investigation into the incident, which was then handed over to the 20th Judicial District Attorney’s Office for review.

Authorities confirmed that Florian was pronounced dead at the scene.

Driver Charged with Traffic Misdemeanors

The driver involved in the crash, 64-year-old Mary Landry, has been charged with two Class 1 traffic misdemeanors.

These charges were officially issued on November 24, 2024, after the completion of the investigation.
